Anyone here happened to be able to use the hat switch when the RockFire
was set to Mode 3?

In fact, anyone here attempted to resurrect this old stick+Rockfire to
work with modern games via WinXP or Win 7?

I could afford the T. Flight Hotas X, but the FCS was still quite new
and durable.

Mine in WinXP is set to mode 1: 2-axis, 4-button joystick w/view finder,
rudder and it runs the hat switch and the buttons on the stick. Hum... I
don't see a throttle on that setting.

I had it set to mode 3 at one time but I can't remember if the hat switch
worked.

That mode means no throttle. I think I had the same set of stuff as you.

Correct. Here are the modes:
M1 Thrustmaster FCS compatibles 2 Axis, 4 button & Z axis with viewfinder
(but no throttle :- (

M2 CH Flightstick Pro compatibles -4 axis, 4 button, viewfinder - sounds
like this one should work.

M3 4-axis, 4-button joystick compatibles

M4 2-axis, 8-button gamepad compatibles

Personally, I'll get one of these when I want to change my CH yoke over to
USB. It would do what you want to d.

I've been using mode 2 on the Cirrus PFC yoke. Axis work, 4 view
switches, and couple of other switches, but leaves many inop. However,
the keyboard sits nicely on the large flat yoke chassis, so there's
really not much inconvenience....

Oh yeah, throttle works too. However, I did have to use FSUIPC to get
the axis to calibrate correctly.
