Reload scenery command?

Hello, all.

I'm new to this group, so please forgive me if this is something that's
been covered, or one of the "oh, God, not again" questions. :)

Does anyone know of a command to force the sim to reload the scenery
textures after a period at a high time acceleration setting? I've tried
just pausing the game and waiting for it to catch up, but it doesn't seem
to want to do it.

I'd appreciate any ideas.

Oh, God, Not again!

Just kidding!
I'm not aware of a command that forces a reload of the scenery, however,
once you slow back down to x1 speed the system will catch up again after a
few (many) seconds. This time depends entirely on the speed of your system
and how much ram you have. Pausing the sim will also pause the loading of
the scenery.
I never use the speed up function. If I don't want to sit there for the
flight, I do a shorter flight. Only time I experience what you are
describing is when I slew to a specific location.

The trick I've read about being used is to go into slew mode ('Y' key)
but not while paused, wait for it to catch up, then exit slew mode
('Y' key again).

Let me know if that does what you need.

You can assign your own command. Go to Options>Settings>
Controls>Buttons and scroll down to Refresh Scenery, then
set a key command. I use Cntrl + ` .

In the key controls menu, under the slew commands tab there is a setting
where you can set a key to reload scenery. I think the default is R while in
slew mode, but you should be able to set it to whatever you like.

Thanks for the responses. I've found the reload scenery command under Slew
mode controls as suggested and mapped it. It does the job nicely.

I was flying to the Faroe Islands, sped up time, and when I got there they
were just bland lumps sticking out of a featureless blue sheet... Now they
look like proper islands in a proper sea. :)
