Hi,

I have reinstalled FSX and SP1 and SP2 after a clean install dual boot
Win 7 on my computer. It works pretty well.

I have the deluxe edition of FSX and assumed it included acceleration
but then noticed I don't have the extra aircraft that came with it.
Reading the Wikipaedia article on FSX, it seems acceleration only comes
with the Gold edition.

My question - would it be better for performance to uninstall FSX with
the SP1 and SP2 packs, then reinstall FSX, and download and install the
Acceleration pack. Is there any advantage to acceleration apart from the
additional aircraft?

Acceleration gives a few extra aircraft, several enhanced
airports and local scenery areas, air races, and more missions.

To install Acceleration, you must first uninstall SP2. The free
standing version of SP2 is not compatible with Acceleration.
Uninstalling SP1 is optional. It won't affect the Acceleration
install.

Thanks for your reply Ian. Am I correct in thinking that when I install
Acceleration there is no further need for SP2 in any case?

SP2 is included in Acceleration. If SP2 is already installed,
it must be uninstalled before installing Acceleration.
